What you need to know before you go

The Bahamas welcomes millions of visitors each year. Below is a summary of the current entry requirements for guests traveling to Breezes Bahamas in Nassau. Requirements can change — always confirm with your airline and the Bahamas government website before your trip.

Passport

All visitors to The Bahamas must carry a valid passport. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your planned departure date from The Bahamas.

  • United States citizens: Valid U.S. passport required. No visa needed for stays up to 8 months.
  • Canadian citizens: Valid Canadian passport required. No visa needed for stays up to 8 months.
  • United Kingdom citizens: Valid UK passport required. No visa needed for stays up to 3 weeks (extendable to 8 months).
  • EU citizens: Valid passport required. Most EU nationals do not need a visa for tourist stays up to 3 months.
  • Other nationalities: Check with your nearest Bahamian embassy or consulate for visa requirements specific to your country.

Getting to Nassau

Breezes Bahamas is located on Cable Beach in Nassau, New Providence Island.

Direct Flights From Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Atlanta, New York, Charlotte, Toronto, and many other cities
Transportation Taxis are available at the airport. Shuttle service can be arranged through the resort.

Customs & Duty-Free

When entering The Bahamas, visitors may bring personal items duty-free. Key limits include:

  • Up to 1 liter of spirits and 1 liter of wine
  • Up to 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 1 pound of tobacco
  • Personal effects and clothing for your stay
  • Prescription medications in their original containers with proper documentation

When returning to the United States, U.S. citizens receive a $800 duty-free exemption per person for goods purchased in The Bahamas.

Health Information

No special vaccinations are required for travel to The Bahamas from most countries. However, consider the following:

  • Routine vaccinations (MMR, tetanus, etc.) should be up to date
  • Tap water is safe to drink in Nassau
  • Sun protection is essential — the UV index in The Bahamas is high year-round
  • Travel medical insurance is strongly recommended
  • The nearest hospital to the resort is Doctors Hospital, approximately 10 minutes away

Currency Bahamian Dollar (BSD), pegged 1:1 to the U.S. Dollar. U.S. dollars are accepted everywhere.

Time Zone Eastern Standard Time (EST / UTC-5). The Bahamas observes daylight saving time.
Electrical 120V, 60Hz — same as the United States. No adapter needed for U.S. devices.
Tipping Gratuities are included in your all-inclusive rate at Breezes Bahamas. Additional tipping is at your discretion.

Bahamas Immigration Card

All visitors must complete a Bahamas Immigration Card online before arrival. This digital form replaces the old paper immigration/customs card.

Complete Immigration Card

The card can be completed up to 3 days before your trip. You will receive a QR code to present at immigration upon arrival.
